Making Things Happen

There’s something about a new year that is really inspiring. That blank page, that fresh start. I’ve always felt invigorated by it. Like anything is possible.

This year is no different. I’m super excited about a few things I have in the works. The main one I want to tell you about is a workshop I’ve put together called “Soul on Fire”.

Last year, I wrote about a group of women I organized to get together for the purpose of connecting and sharing. It was an experiment and I wasn’t quite sure what it was going to shape up to be. We got together for 5 sessions and I knew it was something special. I had plans to re-group and get it going again.

But time and obligations got in the way and I was never able to do it. Until now. We had our first session last week and I can’t tell you how inspiring it is to get together with a great group of women to learn from each other, to share and to just basically feel supported and believed in.

In the workshop, we are talking about ways to go deep within and become our most authentic selves. Hopefully this will allow us to develop a sense of deep gratitude for our lives today and give us the confidence to dream big for the future. We will be creating art journals and doing many exercises to help with those goals. These women really inspire me.

I hope to eventually develop this workshop into something I can share with a larger audience and maybe even create separate art journaling workshops. Those are my ultimate goals. I have lots of crazy ideas and dreams roaming around my busy brain. I’m just throwing them out there into the universe, in the hopes that something takes hold.

As one of my favorite inspirational gurus, Danielle LaPorte says, “Declare it + share it” so that’s what I’m doing today.

By the way, here’s a super-duper amazingly cool and motivating vid by her that blows me away every time I see it:

New year. New goals. New hopes. New dreams. Hope your new year is filled with the same!

  1. It sounds wonderful and I love the phrase “soul on fire.” Have you ever heard the song of that title by Suzanne Sterling? It’s one of my favorites! Can’t wait to see where this goes for you.

  2. Hello DeAnne
I love the idea of the community that you are creating! What a wonderful idea! And the photo and quote on this post are a perfect way to introduce this to us! Looking forward to more…
