“Creativity lies NOT in the done but in the doing. Art is active and incomplete. Always shifting, always becoming. Art is a sneak peak into the future of potential, of what could be. Not a past result of what has been already done. Art is a process not a product.” ~ Erik Wahl
I read this Erik Wahl quote yesterday and I knew exactly what he meant.
Art for me is the process. It takes over. When I’m really lucky, all my thoughts fly out the window and I am left with sweet inspiration. Canvas, paint, paper, brushes… they are my tools and my magic. Things are swirling around in my heart and in my head that need to be expressed. I literally feel the shift, the change… something new wants to be born. It flies off the end of my brush and it becomes known.
It was almost as if these two new paintings of mine just appeared. They needed to be created and so they were. Art is ever changing and evolving. When that shift happens, the feeling is pronounced. Feels wonderful.
